My path to the healing arts and midwifery professions has been a joyfully meandering one. I started by simply touching the people around me in a nurturing way to relieve pain and offer comfort. When I was introduced to Reiki, my core beliefs about the healing powers of touch were enlightened and inspired. I received my 3rd Reiki attunement in 1997. I touched my babies, family, friends, pets, plants, and trees with a heightened awareness for 9 years before getting serious about massage training. I sought the right learning experience for me, which took me to the lovely lands of New Mexico and the Scherer Institute on Natural Healing. After graduating from the 750 hr program in February 2003, I have maintained a private practice, as well as worked in a variety of spa and clinic settings. While I have received specialized training in bodywork for childbearing woman and infants, I do offer and enjoy bodywork for all individuals. I moved to Portland, Oregon in 2004 to attend Birthingway College of Midwifery. I am now a certified professional midwife(CPM) providing care to growing families who choose natural homebirth with Glow Midwifery. I enjoy teaching others and have been assisting with midwifery skills classes for several years now. I am very excited to be the newest fauclty memeber and taking on my own class in the fall. Traveling and camping is always a priority for my family and I balance free time to do so with being on call for birthing families.
