Patricia Anne Davis , MA, WSDphoto to come
I am an Indigenous Native American elder. My English name is Patricia Anne Davis and my Dineh ceremonial name is one who greets the enemy with peace or peacemaker. I am born of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw-Chahta; and born to the yeii dinee' taa chii nii clan of the Navajo/Dineh Nation. My maternal grandparents are Chahta and my paternal grandparents are the kii yaa aanii clan of the Dineh. My late father provided forty years of healing service to three generations of Native people. I am a diagnostician and practitioner by tribal ancestry and initiation. I translate Dineh blessingway ceremonial teaching from creation stories and oral tradition into affirmative healing principles in the four cardinal directions format. I design training within the context of the natural order and use Indigenous science as a concept1 from the literature to define a distinction between an Indigenous thinking system and a dualistic thinking system. I designed a contemporary cognitive ceremonial change process called ©sacred circle ceremony:

  • Inclusive of race and religion – naming the out-of-balance condition in the Western Allopathic system that are invasive and violate women's healthy boundaries.
  • Cross-cultural – emptying the unexamined assumptions of medical care
  • Intergenerational – reframing for the co-creative solutions for child-birthing
  • Restores resources to the next generation of youth – blessingway and protectionway
  • Universal in practical life application – sacred mother-child bonding and nurturing

I am an experienced administrator, grant writer and international teacher. I am also a skilled counselor and facilitator with families and groups. I worked in the Health and Human Services profession over twenty years with public and private programs; community organizations; addiction recovery outpatient counseling programs; inpatient residential centers; federal corrections; state prison system and with the Native community. I was one of the original writers of the innovative K-12 Beauty Way…A Way of Life Curriculum (1990) with the Dineh Division of Education in Window Rock, AZ. We designed a culturally proficient scope and sequence lesson plans, 10 videos, 20 posters, 4 booklets and a teacher user manual. I have traveled to England, Canada, Mexico, France, New Zealand, Egypt and Ecuador to teach Native spirituality.
