Teacher bios [back to other bios] La Shelle Charde You need tools to find and express the compassion, connection, and clarity you long for in your relationships. Living and speaking from authenticity and peace is possible, and doesn’t take years of therapy. Compassionate Communication (also called Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Mindfulness practice provide clarity about why things don’t work and practical tools that naturally open the heart. Working from this new framework, relationships with yourself and others become easier, more fulfilling and connected on a deeper level. When I found Compassionate/Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and began training with Marshall Rosenberg and other internationally known NVC trainers, I immediately knew that Compassionate Communication was the missing piece which offers a deep and broad yet simple understanding of human nature along with a concrete set of tools to help us act and live from a place of clarity and compassion. For me, Compassionate Communication is the hands and feet of spirituality. I enjoy sharing its gifts in both private counseling and classes. La Shelle worked in public schools as a school psychologist for nine years, spent several years facilitating group healing work for adolescent youth labeled “at-risk", counsels couples and individuals privately as well as in classes and workshops, and leads leadership and teamwork trainings for businesses and organizations around Portland.
