Carol Gray
Carol GrayCarol Gray is both a Cranial Sacral Therapist and a Midwife. She has been a therapeutic bodyworker for over 18 years and attending births for nearly three decades. As a midwife, Carol is co-founder of Two Rivers Midwifery and is the director of the Free Clinics of Craniosacral Therapy treatments for Infants at various locations in the Portland metro area approximately once a month. Carol is a pioneer - integrating Craniosacral Therapy into prenatal care, postpartum care and the birth place.

Bodywork educator
Carol Gray is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider. Carol teaches Introductory Craniosacral Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy for Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum, Craniosacral Therapy for Infants and Subtle Palpation Skills classes. These classes are appropriate for bodyworkers, birth attendants and other health professionals.

Home Birth
Carol Gray has dedicated her professional life to supporting expectant and new families by promoting gentle aware birth. Carol has attended births for over 25 years - at first as a doula and since 2000 as a midwife. She attends home births in the Portland, Oregon metro area.

Birthing From Within
Carol has been a certified Birthing From Within mentor since 1999. She has studied directly with Pam England, author of Birthing From Within. Over the years Carol has taught hundreds of expectant parents in a variety of settings including OHSU and Breitenbush. She has also been an advisor to other Birthing From Within mentors enrolled in the certification program. At present she offers private classes in her home in Northwest Portland surrounded by the natural beauty of Forest Park. In this close-in retreat center setting parents can temporarily leave their everyday lives to focus on self exploration.

Craniosacral Therapy Practice
She specializes in treating infants plus pregnant and new mothers. Most of the children she treats are younger than three months. Carol’s experience as a home birth midwife has taught her that new families are best served in their own homes, so even though she welcomes clients to her office, she also makes house calls for infant Craniosacral Therapy treatments.

Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, yet effective type of hands-on body treatment that is helpful for infants and children as well as adults. It is an assessment tool plus corrective and preventive treatment. A newborn Craniosacral Therapy session can minimize or eliminate the repercussions of difficult births and help ensure good health for well babies. Some believe that all babies should receive newborn Craniosacral evaluations and treatments as soon as possible after birth.

Therefore the midwife acts without doing anything
And teaches without saying anything.
Things arise and she lets them come;
Things disappear and she lets them go.
She has but doesn't possess,
Acts but doesn't expect.
When her work is done, she forgets it.
This is why it lasts forever.

- Paraphrased from the Tao Te Ching
